About Matthew W.
My strong suits are teaching rhythm guitar, jazz chord chart comping, fingerpicking/fingerstyle/Travis, easy-to-intermediate classical technique, improvisation, composition/songwriting, music recording, music production, music theory, learning songs by ear, and music memorization. ...I can’t teach speed metal solos, sorry. I wish I could!
I taught Music Technology courses at American University as an Adjunct Professor for well over a decade; mainly teaching the industry-standard recording software Pro Tools.

If you know where you want to go I can get you from point A to point B efficiently. I'll get you where you want to go. I structure lessons based on a student's specific needs and ability. I am a laid-back fellow, and very patient, but if you need frequent encouragement and nagging I can do that too.

Clip-on Tuner: Snark SN-1X
Guitar Picks: Variety Pack (thin, medium, and heavy)
Method Book: To be determined after the first or second lesson
