Being a musician is exciting, challenging, and of course, rewarding. Musicians are communicators; instruments of expression. I'm a firm believer in diligent practice habits and learning the fundamentals of one's craft. From there, the music can happen.
I offer a relaxed, comfortable learning environment that is both fun and productive. A stuffy, tense atmosphere promotes timidness, and insecurity, the opposite of the environment I foster in my studio.
Whether you're a beginner with a passion, or a professional looking to fine tune your proficiency, I can help you get to where you want to be. Diligent, concise, uncomplicated, and fun! That's how I teach.

Matthew was an teacher, would highly recommend to anyone at any skill level. Clearly very passionate about teaching and music, tailors his lessons to suit your needs. Incredibly easy person to get along with, as well
Really loved my lessons with Matt - from the get go even though he had a super busy schedule he was able to squeeze me in (because I had wanted to work on a project initially that was time-sensitive). He is very knowledgeable about techniques and I learned a lot about what the foundations of singing (starting as a complete beginner) - and feel a lot more comfortable and confident singing after. Matthew is also easy going and pleasant and happy to work on a variety of things (or one thing over and over) and so it's also just fun to take lessons with him! Wish I could continue and get even better but I have to travel soon for work for a period of time - hopefully when I'm back I'll get back to this!+ Read More
First lesson was terrific!
First lesson was terrific!
Amazing teacher, he makes you feel very comfortable. Just from the first lesson I could see a huge difference in my voice! Super great!
Matt has been such a great teacher. I have only seen him for a short 4 months and I can already hear a huge difference in my voice. The learning environment is always positive and I look forward to his lessons every week.
I thought Matt was excellent. He not only taught the subject clearly, but he also provided a lot of encouragement - something a new singer really needs!
Matthew is a super hero.. He started with our daughter and now teaches several of her friends. Our daughter has gained confidence, and after just a year, went from virtual chorus to lead in school play, as here friends as well.
We are thrilled that this has been a positive experience for daughter as she loves now to sing. Not much negative to say about Matt - he is great
He helped me build my confidence as a singer and he caters to your needs as a singer. I definitely recommend him.
So let me tell you about Matthew. I came into his lessons with some weird songs that originated from Japan and when we went over them, the songs were so fast that he could hardly believe that people sang them. But even so, he took on the challenge of something he hadn't heard of before and worked with me to improve what I needed to in order to take on the challenges I wanted to face. I feel within the past 12 weeks I've improved so much on breath control, posture, confidence, mixing my music, overall singing with chest, full voice and even in my falsetto. He'll teach you how to keep your voice nice and open, pays close attention to your movements so he can correct you, and is overall just so very knowledgable about the world of singing and more.
He's even agreed to take it to the next level with some research on how to do some dangerous sounding screaming. This guy takes any challenge you throw at him, makes sure you are informed about how each skill/warm-up/style is completed and if you practice, with his help, you'll be sounding so much better and stronger in no time. I'd hire him if I were you. He's a great teacher, a great guy, very flexible and a joy to learn from.
I have wanted to sing since I was a kid, but never got around to taking lessons in high school or college. I signed up for Matt's weekly lessons on a whim and saw he had some good reviews. His students were right on.
Matt is very knowledgeable about different areas of music and in addition to teaching me how to sing, taught me how to tune my bass guitar and the basics of drumming at my request.
His practice room is nice, and its easy to find of 95. He's also a really chill guy and easy to take instruction from.
Highly recommend to everyone.
Matt was amazing! These lessons were a first for my 10 year old daughter, and Matt's style and demeanor were perfect! He's very knowledgeable, kind and patient - characteristics I was looking for in a vocal coach. I would highly recommend him to anyone who has a child with a passion for singing and wants to develop it.+ Read More
Mathew is an awesome singing instructor. He is able to describe how you should sound vocally as well as describe what you should be feeling (physically) while you practice. He incorporates a variety of different exercises that help significantly to produce a great sound.
I've noticed that my voice has improved significantly over the last couple of months. The sound is clearer, more powerful, and my range has improved a lot.
I would highly recommend Matthew as your next singing instructor!
Matthew is a great, patient teacher and he's very thorough!
Great drum teacher. Love him. Glad I found him.
Great, great teacher. Incredibly talented and capable, he has a strong foundation and is very skilled in noticing things in my voice I am unaware of. He does a great job of balancing the fundamentals and helping you sing your style. I have the utmost confidence in his abilities as a performer and my teacher and not a moment is wasted.+ Read More
Matt's a great teacher. He's really good at articulating, and helping you visualize, the different things that are going on when you sing. In the past few months I've noticed a big change in how I look at, and approach, singing.
Really looking forward to continued growth with this teacher!! Highly recommend him!
Amazing Learning Experience
I've had lessons for many different instruments and different teachers in the past. I would say Matthew is the most patient and thorough teacher I've had. Being a beginner at drums, we heavily focused on good technique and are gradually moving forward as I learn everything 100%. I feel very confident that as I continue taking lessons with Matthew I will be a pro. He gives me the right tools so I can go home and practice what we learned in the lessons and I feel myself getting better and better every week. Overall, I have really enjoyed my experience, Matthew is very professional and has great energy!
Matthew is so kind and patient.
My 6 year old son, Dimitri, has Matthew as a singing instructor. Matthew is so patient and funny. Dimitri feels so comfortable at every session. It feels great to know that my son is with such a talented instructor.
