Classical Guitar with Matthew S.

I started playing guitar thirty years ago after I saw a red Yamaha "Rock Axe" in a music store window. Since then I've studied, trained and performed in a number of musical styles, including classical, rock, fingerstyle, and folk. Classically speaking, I trained at the Newcastle Music Conservatory in Australia and was a member of the University of Montana guitar ensemble. I've performed at venues and weddings all over the U.S. and am now based in beautiful Savannah, GA. I've taught guitar students of all ages and abilities. I have lots of experience teaching kids, both inside and outside the classroom. I've led a number of youth guitar ensembles and gotten many young students on the road to deepening their musical potential. I studied teaching both at SUNY Empire State College and at Montessori Live Educational Institute. I teach from my home studio and try to create a relaxed, fun atmosphere. I like to think of learning music as a journey that can lead anywhere, you just have to start taking the first steps!
