I am a classically-trained viola and violin player in the San Francisco Bay Area. I am currently working towards my master's degree at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music. I have had plenty of experience teaching students of all ages and try to empower all of my students to be the best they can be!

Matthew is quite simply an outstanding teacher who has reignited my teenaged son's passion for music and playing his violin. His thoughtful, intelligent, tailored lessons are ones that our child look forward to each week-- even on the weekend! Matthew is a true gem.

Matt is a wonderful, engaging teacher with a natural talent and passion for music, which he easily instills in his students. Whether studying violin or viola with him privately, or performing with him as his colleague, Matt is a consistently inspiring presence and cannot help but influence everyone who comes in musical contact with him. I cannot recommend Matt more highly!

I am happy to recommend Matthew as a private teacher. In my capacity as a seasoned orchestral player I have spent time working with him as a student and have been impressed with his quick response to guidance, and his clear observations about matters of technique and musicality. I believe his attention to detail, and his commitment to the viola will make him a fine teacher.
