A classroom teacher since 2003, Matthew P. Gallant earned both his Bachelor of Arts in English and his Master's in Teaching from the University of New Hampshire. His fourteen years of professional experience include ten years teaching high school English in New Hampshire and Washington, D.C. and four years teaching middle school Language Arts in Virginia and Maryland. As a result, Matthew is an expert in instruction and can help students ages ten and up with reading, comprehension, expression, grammar, writing (persuasive, thesis-driven, analytical, creative, essay), analysis, basic skills, public speaking, SAT / test prep, proofreading, editing, presentations and more. A poet and nationally touring spoken word artist, Matthew is a Busboys and Poets Host, a member of the Beltway Poetry Slam family and the founder of an independent micropress publisher of poetry books, whose authors include Jesse Parent ("To the Boys Who May One Day Date My Daughter" viral video on YouTube) and Rasheed Copeland (2015 Individual World Poetry Slam first runner-up). He can prepare your manuscript for submission, including editing, revision, workshop / conference, as well as performance critique and confidence-building. Like his many students over the years, a one-on-one session with Matthew P. Gallant (Mr. G) will leave the student feeling encouraged, challenged and ready for more. The learning will be hard work, of course, but it will also be fun. I look forward to working with you and seeing the results together.
