About Matthew E.
Bonjour!
With dual degrees in both French and Linguistics, I have extensive knowledge of both fields, particularly in regard to French phonetics and phonology. Therefore, I can assist in any pronunciation or articulatory inquiries. Thanks to recent research endeavors, I also have extensive knowledge of French culture around the end of the 20th century; upon completion of my senior honors thesis, I received distinctions of highest honors for my work on researching Act Up-Paris and their collective impact on the HIV/AIDS crisis in France.
Aside from tutoring high school and college-aged students in French for the past 4 years, I have also traveled to France for cultural exchanges and research opportunities, most recently in February 2020 for the University of Michigan's French Department. I have been studying French for 8 years and have reached near-fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
