Hi, I'm Matt! I am a full time chess teacher/tutor. Over the last 6 years I have worked with over 100 students of all ages. At the age of 19, I earned the title of Chess Expert from the United States Chess Federation. I have taught both children and adults. I have experience teaching in large classroom settings and in one-on-one sessions. For new players and beginners, my curriculum focuses on building a strong foundation of the rules, chess tactics, chess theory as well as a brief history of some of the best chess players of all time. For the more advanced players, we focus more on the most recent chess theory and opening theory. If you have interest in competing in chess tournaments, I will analyze your games and prepare strategies. I have been a magic Teacher/Tutor for 3 years and a professional magician for 4. I specialize in close up magic, Slight of hand, and card tricks. All skill levels welcome! I promise after our first lesson you will be performing powerful, fooling magic. I have tons of experience with kids. I teach two weekly magic after school classes and have an entire curriculum of tricks designed for kids. I am a regular performer at A taste of magic a weekly magic show in Manhattan. Whether you want to learn a card trick to impress your coworkers, your 7 year old got there first magic kit and cant stop preforming or this is your hobby and want to improve your slights/performance/patter I am absolutely the magic tutor for you.
