Cultivate physics mastery with the patient guidance of a physics graduate who's 'been there'

I earned my bachelor's in physics a few years ago after participating in two different self-directed undergraduate research projects. I love physics, despite the enormous pain it can be. I enjoy helping others solve the same problems I probably struggled with at one point in the past. I hope to help you understand the "why?" behind each "how?" so that you can leverage fundamental concepts in constructing solutions to novel problems. For online sessions, I share my screen and pull up a digital whiteboard to write out problems, solutions, and graphs. I can also snip and paste excerpts from reference material, or anything digital you'd like to share. You can come into sessions with problems you'd like help with, or we can discuss and identify a plan at the start. Feel free to come in unprepared! (Currently only accepting students age 18 or older. If booking for an adult other than yourself, please do so through the account they will be using when logging in to attend lessons).

I find no greater joy than helping others reach those "ah-ha!" moments while solving math and physics problems. I'm grateful for any opportunity to help someone achieve their academic goals. It's important work! (Currently only accepting students age 18 or older. Very poor communication and very poor business ethics here. At first on 2/2/2024 Matt told me he works with students on the platform “Discord,” which I knew nothing about yet still checked it out because I needed tutoring in pre-calculus for a 4 year university. Even though the site Discord specified the user to purchase a monthly subscription, I was told it was “free.” 2/7/2024 I did purchase 10 tutorial sessions with Matt, and the system put me in for the next three years. This is not what I needed, I told him to cancel anything after the 10 lessons. Matt said it was no problem, now that I purchased 10 lessons, he would change it so I could manually select my dates and times. Matt also told me his schedule was “pretty free, open every day of the week from 2pm -10pm and he had openings on 2/9/2024” When I responded I would like a tutorial lesson on the 9th his response was to me was that I would have to get tutored on Sunday, which I already have a lesson at 4pm. I want to point out the lessons have to be confirmed by the tutor. Matt did not confirm the lesson at Sunday. When I asked him if there was anything open on Friday, he didn’t even know there was my lesson on Sunday. Hmmmmm something doesn’t sound right. Out of the blue without me receiving any notice, my 4pm tutorial lesson was cancelled for Sunday at 4 PM. I additionally had a lesson scheduled for 6 PM on Tuesday, February 13. At this point, Matt was not communicating with me at all and I find that very unprofessional. I also find it unprofessional that he didn’t confirm or deny the 6 PM tutoring time., it had the nerve to send me a message at 6:43pm, 43 minutes after our scheduled time to tell me, he couldn’t tutor me. I find completely unprofessional that this so-called tutor strung me along when I needed to work on my math. I’ve come to the conclusion that Matt falsely identified himself as a tutor on the Take lessons website. Additionally, I have come to believe that Matt is not qualified to tutor a 4 year college student in pre-calculus or calculus. I find this experience to be very poor communication, fraudulent, a waste of time and money as well as a misrepresentation of what can be offered. This tutor is still advertising. They are available, yet strung me along for weeks saying they would be available and canceled and never confirmed my appointments. Very poor service!!
