Hello and welcome! My name is Matt and my goal is to create an enjoyable, safe environment for you to learn as effectively as possible. Music is hard work but it is the most fun when you are improving and doing what you want! Having been through years of many types of music lessons, a master's program and worked in music publishing, I know that what is most important it is to have a mentor who is thoughtful and open to honest conversations about goals, needs, and interests--- someone who invests and goes the extra mile to help you succeed--- someone who inspires and challenges you. This focused, collaborative approach to education is rare but of utmost importance to my style. I'm first and foremost a composer with interest in using these skills to encourage you to discover and achieve your goals in composition, theory, or beginning piano: additionally I'm in the very beginning stages of developing these ideas into a mobile/web application to further encourage consistent learning habits outside of lessons.
