Music degree from Lawrence University and Conservatory in Appleton, WI. Graduate work in conducting, piano, and vocal pedagogy at Westminster Choir College in Princeton. I teach at two locations but mainly in my home studio, since 199, and in a family friendly location. There is a plethora of piano and vocal educational materials that I utilize. No two lessons are alike, I am into variety big time. Anyone can learn an instrument(that includes singing. Anyone. I repeat, Anyone. The greatest virtues of a music teacher are passion, patience, understanding, and communicating. You will experience this in the studio. Give yourself a treat of two months of lessons and I promise you will be playing and/or singing better than you expected. *** Lesson Details *** Laid back and stress free environment, always. We will work together with specific goals such as a piece you would really like to learn. Many singers are in Broadway, Disney, Bruce Springsteen, Taylor Swift and so much more. With singing you will have basic knowledge of proper posture, breathing, and increasing range. And with piano and voice I can guarantee after three months you will be playing/singing music you like, and you will be reading music, and able to perform if you wish. *** Studio Equipment *** Studio: Kawaii Upright Piano. Yamaha Keyboard, and couches and a chair if parent wishes to sit in on lesson. Also have computer programs and great apps for learning. *** Specialties *** I've also had graduate study in teaching the Adult Beginner. I was also a Church Music Director 1993 till 2016 so am very familiar with traditional and contemporary sacred music, . Now this is my full-time career If you also wish to combine singing and accompanying yourself by learning piano or guitar lessons, we can tailor specific lessons for that purpose

Mary is very creative with exercises to strengthen my voice. She is patient and complementary, and very clear in her teachings, and it makes me want to practice even more. Her hearing of where my voice is is on the spot, and she catches me each time when it goes into my head. Great teacher. Thanks Mary.

I take both piano and voice with Mary. She is a great teacher and makes learning fun, we have some great laughing/smiling moments while learning. She is perceptive and encouraging. Mary definitely has corrected some vocal glitches I had when I first started with her that previous teachers were not able to help with. Elizabeth
