Hello! I am an active professional clarinetist with a variety of orchestral, solo, and chamber music experience. I've performed frequently with the Phoenix Symphony and hold the position of 2nd Clarinetist in the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra. Before moving to Arizona, I was the 2nd Clarinetist in the Oklahoma City Philharmonic and the E-flat Clarinetist of the Wichita Symphony. I've also performed with the Kansas City Symphony and the Utah Shakespearean Festival. I hold a Bachelor of Music degree from Northwestern University, and a Master of Music degree from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory. As a teacher, I encourage individual musical growth through a balance of traditional fundamentals and creative artistry and expression.

I am an adult absolute beginner, and Mary was a great help in figuring out the higher register, improving my tone and note clarity, and even diagnosing a bent key that was making it unplayable one lesson - all over a computer! I'm seriously impressed with what she can help with, even when she isn't there in person. :) Thanks Mary!

Mary was wonderful. I was apprehensive about my total ignorance of the instrument and my physical capacity to perform a task that involve the lungs. Since I am an old old lady this was a little challenging not only for me as a student, but also for a teacher. Experienced Mary knew how to inspire in me confidence. Her clear explanations gave me knowledge I needed, and little by little I became making the sounds that were so incredible amazing. Mary has a natural sweetness, a serenity that easily transmits determination, courage and faith. What a marvelous choice I made picking her as my instructor. I am optimist that one day I will play some of my favorites songs of my past happy days.

I have really enjoyed the lessons I got from Mary and learned a ton! I hadn't played clarinet for years but enjoyed starting to learn again and she helped make it a lot easier than just relearning on my own. I really recommend her as a teacher for any age student!
