I am a college graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. I am a painter primarily, but I am trained in drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, etc. Being an artist means being a lot of things! You are not someone with just a hobby; you are an engineer, mathematician, planner, risk taker, designer, scientist. The list goes on. I dedicate my life to problem-solving. This is what art is. I would love to share my knowledge and be able to continue to support my creative life by supporting the drive for success in others. My career is as an artist, and I am seeking to support myself solely off of gallery representation in the future. However, I currently paint full time, as well as work full time in an office setting doing administrative work Monday through Thursday. I also sell handcrafted modern home decor on the side. I used TakeLessons briefly a few years ago, shortly after I graduated college. It was a great experience that I just fell out of the habit of committing time to. I would love to get back to teaching, and potentially even replace my office job with freelance instruction. I am happy to teach in a central location, come to you, OR have you come to my home! I am not listing my residence address for privacy reasons but am happy to share once we've chatted. I have really no age limit in terms of students. If you are a parent looking for a teacher for a child/ren, that's great, we could have some fun constructing and working on anything from still lifes of their favorite toys to acrylic paintings that touch on color relationships. If you yourself are looking to strengthen your drawing from nature or learn how to build a realistic self-portrait, that's great too. I'm willing and happy to do anything from spending time sculpting with a senior citizen to discussing and working on conceptual painting with a student in need of more outside fuel and support. I believe that teaching to think like an artist is just as important as teaching technical ability. I've become adept at both of these skills and I am so excited to share with and learn from you in return!! PSA - In order to display my technical skill, I have a few images on my profile of work I completed in my undergraduate education of the human figure. Please don't be put off by this if you are seeking drawing classes for a child - this is just to display and show examples of my ability.
