I have been performing with classical, jazz, and various other groups for over 15 years. I started off on drum set and then expanded to classical and jazz percussion. My teachers include the principal percussionists for the New Moscow Symphony, Israel Philharmonic, and Atlanta Opera. I have extensive experience on stage, including shows at the Kennedy Center and a concert tour of Greece, and am an active performer and composer.
I have been teaching lessons for the past 5 years and love working with students of all ages and skill levels. I am very patient and interested in using my skills to help students reach their goals.
I work with students to establish milestones and individualize the structure of lessons to fit student-determined goals. While all students receive similar training in regards to theory and technique, I like to tailor the content so that it is interesting and relevant.
During lessons we will generally play through last week's exercises, talk through any questions the student might have, discuss goals and progress, and come up with a set of assignments for next week. Assignments can include playing exercises out of a book, playing along to recordings, transcribing drum solos, theory assignments, and more.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions!
