Born and raised in Madison, WI, Marta left her hometown early to finish high school at the acclaimed Interlochen Arts Academy where she studied both violin and viola. Graduating with a focus on viola, she moved to Chicago to receive a B.M. from DePaul University, studying under Rami Solomonow (Lyric Opera) and various Chicago Symphony Orchestra musicians.

An avid teacher as well as a performer, Marta has enhanced her pedagogy training by taking Suzuki Method coursework at the American Suzuki Institute, DePaul Community Music Division and with teachers at the Colburn School.

An active performer and session musician in Los Angeles, Marta has most recently been found playing with Peking Duck at Coachella, on the Nokia Theater LA Live stage to sold out crowds, and in various recording studios around town recording album music and film soundtracks.

Marta is an exceptional instructor, and we are so lucky to have found her! My now 10 year old has been her student for a year and a half and has truly blossomed as a violin player. Marta is not only talented, but kind, patient, and accommodating. She is 100% engaged and dedicated to her students and clearly takes great care in developing their love of music. We could not have asked for a better instructor!

Marta is a professional in every sense of the word. First of all, she is punctual, which in my book is everything. Once the lesson starts with my 11 yr. old son she is incredibly focused and passionate about making sure he is really taking in what she is teaching. If she senses that he might not be getting something, she patiently starts over and goes over every step along the way. From posture to tonality she is giving my son a strong base from which he will be able to build on. He absolutely adores her and so do I!

Great teacher

Marta was punctual, and took her time at the end to finish up too. She is very friendly, good with kids. My 9 year old felt very comfortable with her right away and y 4 year old wants to take lessons from her as well. After her first lesson my daughter feels she has learned a lot. I am very happy with Marta and can recommend her full-heartedly.

Really nice instructor

Marta is a wonderful instructor. She's knowledgeable, patient and willing to help you as much as possible to enable you to learn your instrument. She's flexible with her schedule to accommodate your needs so that's a great plus. She's happy to explain things more than once for someone like me who is totally new to music. She's very encouraging too and appreciates whenever I play well which motivates me to continue working hard.
