Embark upon a universal journey aboard the starship Prometheus!

The study and scientific discipline of astronomy has undergone vast changes in the last six or so decades, when I was first introduced to this awe-inspiring view and understanding of the heavens. Our space traveler "Prometheus" will transport its passengers from the beginning of time, known as "the big bang," to the present time, where the imposing and gigantic $10 billion infrared, light-gathering telescope that has the wherewithal to see over thirteen billion light years into the past from its permanent position one million miles from earth. As the celestial sojourn continues, our super-advanced space voyager will bring into view billions of galaxies, trillions of stars, black holes, solar systems, quasars, comets, and a myriad of other objects that, until fairly recently, were not even known, and also inexplicable. Come and get a move on. The fun starts immediately!

    About Marshall C.

T minus one hour-14 minutes and 7 seconds until liftoff. The Starship Prometheus resides in the gantry, ready to unleash hundreds of thousands of pounds of unbridled thrust. Liftoff has been achieved. At 18,500 MPH. the ship overcomes the earth's atmospheric pull of gravity and enters space and weightlessness. At this time, I would like to take the opportunity to introduce myself formally. My name is Marshall C. I attained my bachelor of science with a major in biology. Pre-med seemed like a long haul in time, so I became a court stenographer, only to have a rewarding and illustrious career for close to five decades. My understanding of the study of the universe has been culled down to the13 billion plus light years years that our universe has been in existence. It would be very easy to read a nicely-written and illustrated hardcover book, but there is so much more that the heavens offer us... if we know where to look. I can take you there, and turn complex theories into understandable puzzle pieces. To everyone onboard, fasten your anchor points.... space awaits!
