I have a lot of practical and professional music experience to bring to my lessons, playing with many different bands across many genres. in addition, for my intermediate and advanced students, I accompany them on bass and drums to help them learn to play with other parts of a rhythm section when their goal is to play with other musicians. I'd also say that I take care to craft my teaching to what my students actually want to be able to accomplish, and find ways to teach them not only technique, but theory that is specifically helpful to what they want to be able to do.

I have ten years of teaching and performing/touring experience ranging across a number of different genres, and I was trained at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. I currently play for multiple groups in Philadelphia including one of my own called The Lion and the Badger.

Marshall has been working with my son on his acoustic guitar for nearly a year -- both online and in person.  He is a terrific teacher -- Marshall is patient, kind, and engaging.  He is readily able to assess my son's continuing abilities and tailor the lesson to his specific needs.  Marshall is also a great communicator and is always quickly in touch if we need to reschedule or change lesson times.
