I am a potter who specializes in functional tableware. I teach in my studio and also at local art centers. I teach throwing on the potter's wheel and hand-building. My work has been exhibited in national juried shows. I also am a textile artisan. My love is doll-making, in the Waldorf style. I teach knitting (Continental style), crochet, and sewing. My other love is gardening. I grow tree and herbaceous peonies. My cottage style garden is planted for fragrance and naturalness. I emphasize growing perennials because their beauty increases each year.

I have had nothing but the best experience working with Marlisa. She is patient, she takes the time to verify that you've grasped a concept you're struggling with and works to find the best way to communicate with YOU. I don't think anyone would regret spending an hour or two learning and chatting with Marlisa. I feel so inspired and more confident each time I leave a session. If you're on the fence about trying this; don't hesitate!

Marlisa is a very kind, patient and knowledgeable teacher. I took my granddaughter to her for a pottery lesson and she was very happy with Marlisa's teaching, resulting in her being able to throw a bowl on the wheel that she can actually use. I would highly recommend Marlisa as a teacher for students of all ages!
