Mark Martinez received an Undergraduate degree in Music from the University of Texas at San Antonio. While at UTSA he studied with Dr. Graeme Francis and Sherry Rubins. Mark was a part of the Wind, Jazz, Percussion, Men’s Chorus, and Jazz Combo ensembles at UTSA. He was also a part of the founding members of the UTSA New Music Ensemble (Spectrum).

Mark has served as a percussion instructor at Marshall HS, Somerset HS, and St. Mary’s Hall.
Mark also works as a freelance musician in the San Antonio area. He has worked with SanAnTrio, Ortega Jazz, Adam Zuniga, Pochos Chidos and many others. He has played music ranging from jazz, latin, rock, world, and other experimental styles. He has recorded with different groups including Ortega Jazz, Seth Ransom Osborn & the Sagauro Canyon Ballroom Band, Pochos Chidos, and others. He has also had the pleasure of being a part of the music ensembles for the Brauntex, Woodlawn, and Overtime Theatres.
Mark has experience with performing and recording on drum set, percussion, latin percussion, and world percussion instruments.
