Film Scoring with Mark C.

Hi! I'm Mark. I'm an American music teacher, composer, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and music producer. I started teaching private music lessons my senior year of high school, in 2006. Since then I've taught hundreds of different students of all ages from 3 years old to 78 years old. While still living in Ohio, I was the one and only official guitar teacher for Guitar Center Youngstown through the duration of 2008-2009. In late 2009, after moving to Los Angeles, I continued to teach privately and with several different programs all around the city for 13 years. By the time I was 21, I had already toured nationally, performed on TV and radio, and released three albums with my old band Another Found Self. I've had the privilege of playing with many great artists such as Dave Grohl, Paramore, The Gin Blossoms, Hanson, and Lee DeWyze (American Idol Winner, season 9). After moving to Los Angeles in 2009, I also began composing. I created the scores for several commercials and films, two of which won me awards at film festivals. Most recently, in 2023, I had the privilege of licensing two songs to the TV show Kung Fu on the CW network. Teaching in LA, I've worked with numerous well-known clients in the entertainment industry, and several of my up-and-coming students have already gone on to have successful careers of their own in music and film.
