*** Lesson Details ***
Lessons take place at my home studio. Lessons may be recorded on my professional recording equipment or you may bring your own recording devices. This is an excellent learning tool. I teach my students how to extend their range, increase breath control and the freedom of their body in order to enable a free and easy produced vocal tone. I teach song repertoire to the student's particular musical style choices. I also work with students that wish to write their own songs so that their musical ideas can be heard clearly and precisely. A guitar is available for students if they wish to use it to accompany themselves. I teach my students how to deal with performance anxiety . Students are presented in recitals twice a year and performance classes are held once a month in addition to the private lessons.

IF you can talk you can sing and I guarantee it!!!! I teach beginners to advanced of all ages.

I love working with Marjorie. I am learning so much with her. I am very shy, but I feel comfortable with her and am slowly gaining confidence in my voice. She is very supportive and I could not ask for a better instructor. I cannot wait to continue my lessons with her!

Marjorie is an amazing teacher!! She's very supportive and inspiring to the point that now I've started to get into songwriting. She even teaches me relaxation exercises to help nudge the creative spirit! I always leave her studio feeling enthusiastic, full of energy and looking forward to the next lesson!

When I first came to Marjorie it was to see if I could start to work on adding some natural vibrato after years of straight-tone choral singing. I was feeling very discouraged and worried that maybe I just didn't have any natural vibrato at all.

When the lesson started, one of the first things Marjorie said to me was, "You're not singing straight-tone. I can hear your vibrato in there, but we need to set it free." In just a few more lessons we were already stripping away years of bad habits from choral blending, and I was thrilled to start to feel my vocal chords phonating easily and naturally.

Fast-forward several months and my confidence -- and love for singing -- continue to grow. I'm so amazed with Marjorie's patience and faith in me and just thrilled that she was able to break through 10 years of bad habits and set free my natural sound!

Marjorie is a brilliant teacher who will put you at ease within the first five minutes of being in her studio. She will give you the technical tools to create the best sound and then help you develop your own artistry. I highly recommend her to any voice student of any level!

I have had the privilege of working with Marjorie for the past 14 years. I began taking lessons with her while still in middle school and I have continued to grow as a performer through years of her expertise and hands-on approach. She has trained me in multiple styles including broadway, opera, pop and jazz. Her willingness to go the extra mile and build a student's confidence and stage presence has enabled me to tackle any audition with a sense of pride in my abilities.

Marjorie has coached me through more than 50 auditions including conservatory program auditions. She has given me the gift of multiple recitals that allowed me to put her teachings to use. I can proudly say that I am confident not only in my singing ability, but also in my ability to "act the role". By that I mean, adding a character to every musical piece I perform, enabling me to be that much more successful in my performances. She has challenged me to leave my comfort zone and hand over control and I have been more than successful every time I put my complete faith in her.

To me Marjorie is the epitiome of voice teachers. I can not recommend her highly enough. Whether you are trying to make a career out of performance or if you are simply looking for a hobby, Marjorie is by far the best out there. Please give yourself the gift of voice lessons with Marjorie.

Before Marjorie, I didn’t know I could sing. Her patient guidance and enthusiasm have helped me find my voice. Her loving and playful teaching style creates a safe and warm environment for learning, exploring, making mistakes, making beautiful sound, and having great fun. With her support I feel more confident in myself. She is truly a wonderful and inspiring teacher.

I have taken about 4 years of singing lessons with Marjorie K. I had to stop taking lessons, temporarily, due to personal circumstances. I miss taking lessons with her very much and can`t wait to resume my lessons.

I have had several other singing teachers, in the past, and Marjorie is the best by far. Although Marjorie has a background in opera, she is very supportive and encouraging of any singing style you choose. I love singing show and pop, even

though Marjorie says that I have the voice for opera, if not the discipline. Marjorie is very dedicated to getting the best sound from me. She is uplifting, inspiring, caring, very kind, and my greatest personal cheerleader concerning my

voice and my personal life. I am very blessed to have Marjorie K as my singing teacher. Although I consider Marjorie a great singing teacher, I feel that she is an even better person. She cares about me totally and not just my singing voice.

I recommended 3 of my friends to take lessons with Marjorie, and they all loved her and thanked me. I have looked forward to each and every lesson with Marjorie, since she makes the lessons a lot of fun. Sometimes I even felt a natural high, especially

after a great lesson or a big breakthrough. It is better than therapy. I can assure you that I wasn`t the easiest student to deal with, but Marjorie has the patience of a saint. It really paid off, since I get a ton of complements whenever I sing.

I always have to give Marjorie a tremendous amount of credit for helping me create my beautiful voice.

Finally, if you love to sing, you will love Marjorie K.

Marjorie, Marjorie, Marjorie!

Where do I begin to describe this wonderful human being?!

The minute you engage with Marjorie Kahn you are put at ease by her calm demeanor and feel completely comfortable. Her energy is strong, direct, and yet very free. She is agile in her teaching abilities and able to find solutions to any difficulties or obstacles you might face as a singer or performer. She is a master of her craft and takes the time to truly understand your strengths and weaknesses, going above and beyond to work with you. She allows you the opportunity to explore your voice without judgement. She has increased my vocal range and built my confidence. I have worked with Marjorie for about a year and I couldn't be happier. She is a professional and a true friend.

Marjorie has a charming way to cajole, finding the right key for me, helping me do my rock and blues, a charming way to good fun face time in the cheeks and vowels of songs. And we discovered Willie Nelson together adding my own emotional intensity but pushing through it to get the sound out between the nascent tears.
