As a child of five years old I was brought by my mom to Gulyaev’s Art Studio and this famous Ukrainian artist involved me in the marvelous world of fine art.

In high-school, I participated in a federally-funded program for the Gifted and Talented in Visual Art. After graduation I won a huge competition and was admitted as a student of the Architectural department of the Kiev Architectural Civil University. In 2001, I become a student, hand-selected by the director of extraordinary Master degree program of Visual Communication, offered by Syracuse University (Syracuse, NY). In master classes, we learned from each other and worked with the best illustrators: Murray Tinkelman and Cris Payne, Dave Passalaqua and Sano Kazu (Kazuhini), Bunny (Alice) Carter and Bob d’Sey, I love to learn new skills and keep learning new styles and techniques all the time. This love has inspired my beloved students to do the same.

It was our first class together so part of it was organizing myself. I look forward to more classes with Marina.

I've known Marina for a very long time and while I haven't taken any classes yet, I most definitely would recommend her to anyone who's looking for a good art teacher. She is a very talented artist and has a rare ability to inspire people to be creative. Her students' paintings are awesome and always make me smile looking at them.

Marina Bichinsky is very talented and highly educated artist, illustrator, and instructor, who has shared your skills and talent with her students. In addition to teaching traditionally in the art studio, she has used the new technological tools by teaching fine art online via the SKYPE. The online instructional method is as effective as face-to-face one. Try it! You will love it. Marina's focus will be just on you and it will benefit you enormously as an artist. Bon Voyage!

Marina Bichinsky is an extremely talented art teacher, which could be noticed by those who have seen her students' works. She is also a very friendly, personal individual with great sense of humor. I have no doubt that her skype sessions will be as productive as her classes in the art studio! Good luck to Marina and her new students!

Marina is a great art teacher. I can see by her personality that she will give art suggestions when she sees something wrong NICELY. I think that it will be a great idea to learn from her, especially those who really enjoy it, like Marina herself! I've seen her draw, and once I thought that one of those pictures was taken. Marina has a great talent, and the reason she wants to teach others is to pass her skills on. Lets learn at her studio!

Painting

Levels Taught:
Beginner, Intermediate

The objective of this class is to push drawing skills, to increase ability to see the relative values within the objects/figure and to learn to ‘plan ahead’ with specific goals to accomplish at different times during the painting. Progressing to painting is at the Instructor’s discretion and depends on the experience of the student and success of the initial drawings.

This class will address the principles that are essential to transform abstract flat shapes into fully dimensional form and create a sense of light on the objects/figure. The student will focus on drawing and painting the object/figure with a full range of values and develop the ability to make accurate relative value calibrations. The focus will be on structure, anatomy, proportion, light direction, edge conditions, abstract movements through the figure, composition and an understanding of basic form.
