Amazing first lesson!! :) I'm a beginner with very little musical experience beyond picking up my violin once in a while, and by the end of our 45 minutes Marilyn had me playing a couple of different rhythms and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. She covered the bow hold and how to position the violin, where your fingers should be -- all the essential basics you would expect to learn at a first lesson. She was super, super nice and great to talk with! If you have any questions, she's happy to answer them, and it was just all around a great experience. The time went by so fast -- 45 minutes felt like 15 minutes! Can't wait for our next one!

Marilyn is AWESOME! She's energetic and so enthusiastic with her teaching. She clearly expresses her joy in music, and in teaching others. Because of her lessons with Marilyn, my daughter loves playing violin and she always looks forward to her next lesson. I highly recommend Marilyn!

Our 8 year old son, Ben, takes violin with Mrs. Taylor once a week. He loves the time with her & she is wonderful with him. Disciplined, but fun and always encouraging. She is so talented, which is inspiring for Ben. She is also very accommodating when our schedule gets hectic, which happens from time to time with two busy kids!
