    About Marija (pronounced, "Maria") K.

Greetings from Marija (pronounced, "Maria")! Anyone who is curious about playing music or has a passion for it can learn. Whether you are an adult who is brand new at it (and you are NEVER "too old to start"), have been away from playing for a while & would like to get back into it, a performer who wants to work on technique, a young child who expresses an interest in a ukulele, a teen who wants to learn to "shred" on the electric guitar or someone who just loves the sound of a stringed instrument, I will help you reach your goals and quickly find enjoyment in playing your instrument of choice. About Marija: I am a Graduate of Musician's Institute/Guitar Institute of Technology, have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California Institute of the Arts and, as well as a long-time music instructor, am a working BMI songwriter and live performer, recording and playing original and tribute music, globally. Artist Product Endorsements: Levy's Leathers Limited Dunlop Guitar Accessories U.S.A. About Your Lessons: I have a patient, confidence-building and enthusiasm-generating approach to teaching that is positive, inspiring and comfortable, where students can learn in a way that is best suited to their individual personalities, playing level and pace. As we go along, we develop strategies for attainable goals with guidance for quality and streamlined practice-sessions for maximum results with minimum effort, which makes learning easier and faster. We also work from a list of the student's favorite songs in any style or genre, based on the student's interest, while exploring others in order to enhance skill and inspire creativity. Additional Note: For those who enjoy these guitar styles, my added experience in tributing these artists on guitar (and vocals) has enabled me to provide in-depth knowledge of the music of Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Metallica, as well as many other styles and genres. I look forward to helping you meet your musical goals. Cheers!
