I am a professional harpist with a Masters degree in Harp Performance from The Boston Conservatory. I have been playing the harp for over 20 years and I have experience teaching students of all ages and levels. No previous musical training required, I will personalize your lessons to your goals and needs. *How do I get a harp?* I can guide you to buy or rent a suitable harp for you! *Lever or Pedal harp?* Lever harp: Lever harps are smaller and the number of strings range between 26-36. The levers add tension to the strings, making it possible to play in different keys. You can play celtic music, popular/traditional tunes, meditation music, and some classical favorites with this harp. For its portability, the lever harp makes a wonderful companion. Children usually start learning with a lever harp because of its size. Pedal harp: The pedal harp is the one you may have seen in the orchestra. It's large, consisting of 47 strings and 7 pedals. The pedals provide more possibilities. It's size and beauty makes it unforgettable. Nowadays they make smaller versions of the pedal harp but usually you have to reach certain height to be able to reach the pedals. We can discuss the possibilities if your kid wants to learn the pedal harp. *Do I need previous music knowledge? No, I can teach you both how to play the harp and how to read music. We will divide the lesson time accordingly.
