I am a classically trained guitar player who ventured off into a variety of styles such as Blues, Jazz, Rock and Open Tunings. The greatest thing about being a teacher as well as a performer is that I am able to recognize and hone in on your natural music skills and teach you how to incorporate them into creating your own style of playing. I’ve been teaching guitar since 2006 and enjoy finding the time to help my students move forward through all levels of learning and always keep it fun! I studied music and theater at Hunter College and The New School Guitar Study Center and have performed with some of music’s greatest players. I was mentored throughout my career by the late great Hugh McCracken one of the music industries greatest producers and top 100 guitar players and also had the pleasure of performing with the late B.B. King, Wyclef Jean, Dr. John and many more. I have written and recorded songs for Off Broadway, Film and TV as well as teacher/consultant for many actors behind the scenes for networks such as WARNER BROTHERS, NBC, ABC, NETFLIX, HBO AND SHOWTIME. I produced and recorded an Internationally successful CD titled “RESTLESS ANGEL” released in Australia and have been reviewed and featured in several top music publications such as PERFORMING SONGWRITER MAGAZINE, AUSTRALIAN MUSICIAN, AUSTRALIAN GUITAR, BEAT MAGAZINE, AMAZON AND MODERN DRUMMER. I can teach and play just about any style of guitar with specialties in Electric guitar, instrumental fingerstyle, Blues, flatpicking, fingerpicking, lead guitar, open tuning's, slide and Dobro. My style of teaching is unique and includes traditional and non-traditional styles of theory, rhythm and ear training combined with various styles of muscle techniques that I’ve developed in order to reach notes and not get bored and tired! I believe that ANYONE can learn guitar if they have the drive and desire. I'm a kind, motivated and patient person and my teaching style is straight forward, focused and fun! I look forward to working with you and helping you reach your musical dreams and goals!
