Hi, my name is Maria. I'm a senior student in Opera singing at Komitas State Conservatory in Yerevan. Currently I live in Boca Raton and i would love to share my experience with other people.
Music was always in my life. I was born and raised in Russia in intelligent family: my mother is a doctor and my father is a scientist. When I was 5 years old they put me in music school. And that's where my professional path has been started. As a child/teenager I won a lot of domestic and international competitions. At the age 16 I went to the International Vocal Competition in Yekaterinburg and took parts in a lot of masterclasses which improved my professional skills.
At the age 18 I went to Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas and started my studies in the class of well known Armenian soprano, ex-soloist of Mariinsky theatre and favorite "Tosca" of Maestro Gergiev — professor Susanna Martirosyan. She also was a Carlo Bergonzi student and took an internship in Teatro Alla Scala in Milan where she studied belcanto tecnique. As my professor and my "sansei" she passed me the knowledge and secrets of Belcanto, drama, teaching and other professional qualities.
During my studies in Conservatory I took parts in many masterclasses, one of them was masterclass by Makvala Kasrashvili who is now Director of Opera at the Bolshoi Theatre.
Furthermore, right now I'm a part of Opera Studio Komitas Conservatory and soloist at Young Artist Program at Yerevan Opera Theatre.
I love absolutely different genres of music, I also sing jazz, pop, soul, blues. I studied jazz in Fusion Music Studio where I attended classes like vocal, improvisation & scat singing, rhythmic solfeggio, acting.
