Learn Fundamentals and Advanced Techniques from Licenced Teacher

I am a musician and music educator specializing in brass and bass guitar. I hold a Bachelor of Music from Stephen F. Austin State University as well as a Music EC-12 Teacher Certification. I can teach trumpet, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and jazz bass guitar. I thoroughly enjoy listen and watch my students grow as individuals and musicians. Learning a musical instrument teaches a person many things that will have them be successful such as hard work, patience, and delayed gratification. Having my students learn these skills is essential in today's world.

First and foremost I am a musician and music educator. I enjoy performing, arranging, composing, and of course passing my knowledge to future generations. I have a very diverse taste in music. Some of my favorite artists/composers include Platina Jazz, Gustav Holst, Karl King, Charles Mingus, and others. My focuses are brass and jazz bass. Though primarily a euphonium player, I also play trumpet, trombone, and tuba. I teach fundamentals, some advanced techniques, and the music theory to back up and support learning.

    Texas Music Educators Association

    Jul, 2010

Begun in 1920 as the Texas Band Teachers Association, the Texas Music Educators Association is an organization of over 10,000 school music educators dedicated to promoting excellence in music education. TMEA is comprised of five divisions: Band, Orchestra, Vocal, Elementary and College. On behalf of its members and Texas schoolchildren, TMEA carefully monitors the actions of all state decision-making bodies on issues affecting fine arts instruction in Texas. In addition to many member benefits, TMEA offers professional development opportunities for its members with Region workshops and especially with its annual Clinic/Convention. TMEA supports the future of music education by offering scholarships to music education majors and by sponsoring the Texas Future Music Educators, an organization through which high school students interested in careers in music education learn more about what to expect in their college education and future careers.
