I have my bachelors in Music Education. I have received the highest honors in state competitions and I have had the pleasure of working with some of the top university orchestras in the southeast, including the University of South Florida Symphony Orchestra and the University of Tampa Orchestra. I have also been fortunate enough to study with some of the great nationally and internationally known Suzuki instructors, whose knowledge and techniques I will share with my students. When I am not teaching, I enjoy music making in my community. But what I enjoy most is being able to teach the delight of music making to my students My hope is to provide an educational environment that fosters the artistic, intellectual, and personal growth of my students and prepare them to embark on successful careers and productive lives as artists and citizens. I believe that every child should be given an avenue of expression and the access to responsible, well-trained, and compassionate individuals who can aid and guide their artistic development. As a teacher, I feel that it is my duty to continuously elevate my educational and artistic standards and supply my students with the sensitivity to admire and appreciate education, hard-work, and the human-spirit. *** Lesson Details *** Each lesson will contain four (4) elements: 1. Technique development 2. Ear and Rhythmic training 3. Music theory 4. Performance All elements are taught in fun and exciting ways that will keep you motivated and enthused! I am interested in teaching students of all ages and levels, it doesn't matter if you are just curious about the violin or viola and this has always been something you wanted to explore, or if you plan on becoming a professional as well. I know that everyone has a different learning style so I make sure to develop a curriculum a suites my students, making sure that certain goals and benchmarks are reached. This will be a lesson that you will look forward to having every week! *** Specialties *** I mainly teach classical violin and viola using the Suzuki Method and other traditional methods. However, I do incorporate other genres as well, such as jazz, salsa, and fiddle tunes into my instruction.
