Several decades later, I *still* don't know if that's why I won, but now that I'm the published author of 80+ books for children, I do know this: writing creatively is an adventure.
It's also a must. If you are going to write at all, write with flair! (You would eat a bowl of ice cream as is, but if offered a topping, wouldn't you take it?) It makes the experience more delicious for the reader, but also for YOU, the writer. The entertainer!
This is not your typical writing session. High impact. Low stress. I make it fun and funny. My writing challenges are unlike any you've done. If you're an avid writer, this is for you. If you're a reluctant writer, same! I've worked with all kinds of kids.
Each session will involve lively discussion and mind-blowing tips...you won't want it to end. So let's get started!
About Marc N.
When I was your age, my parents forced me to take judo.
And guitar.
And computing programming.
And writing.
But before I tried those activities, I did not know which I would like. I thought I would like guitar, but I didn't. I did not think I would like writing THAT much, but I did. SO much that it became my job!
You are the same. You also don't already know everything that will become your passion.
I've had the privilege of teaching creative writing to kids around the world for years, and the kids have taught me, too: I've learned a lot about what kids like and what you don't.
That mean I focus on the FUN of writing. No tests, no stress. I make sure my writing sessions have something for ALL, even you kids who are forced to do them.
We'll work at your pace, with subjects you like as much as possible, to help you become the writer you did not know you could be.
I'm not saying that writing will become your passion. I am saying that you will enjoy our time together. No need to take my word for it; here's feedback from one of the many schools I've presented at:
"In 30 years of hosting best-selling authors, Marc's presentation was the best I have ever witnessed. Judging from the student response, he transformed what it means to be a writer."
—Karen Palko, teacher, International School of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
But I can't help you with judo.

Zoe had a great time and is excited to continue with her story. I think this was a great experience and the time and attention that Marc gave really motivated her to work on improving her creative writing. Thanks, Marc!

My 4th grader really enjoys the lessons (and she's not an easy sell!). She happily writes her stories without any nagging, and looks forward to discussing them with Marc. She has begged me to keep signing her up for lessons throughout the summer. It's been a great experience!

My daughter enjoys the lessons with Marc and she enjoys writing stories before each class.

Marc offers very detailed and helpful feedback. My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed each lesson.

The camp was incredibly fun! He helped me learn so much and grow as a writer. I totally recommend him as an instructor. 😀

I am a seventh grader, and have just completed Mr. Nobleman's five day learning course. I believe he would be a great teacher for any student of any level, and his class was very engaging, informative, and fun!
Thank you, Mr. Nobleman!

awsome teacher!

Great progress over the span of the week. Marc is very enthusiastic and flexible.

My daughter loved attending creative writing camp with Mr. Nobleman. She wants me to sign her up every summer!

My son attended two summers for Creative writing because he loved it so much. Great teacher! Highly recommend.

My daughter loved the writing class! She found it fun and engaging!

I took the creative writing class the summer before I entered sixth grade and Marc’s thoughtful, personal, and fluid lessons have shaped my experiences writing and analyzing creative writing for the past three years. I often think about the unsung heroes that he taught us about as a way that I can extend my own stories and recognize the bravery of normal people in the the world. I would highly recommend this class to all campers, regardless of writing ability.

Mr Marc made writing fun and educational. I liked his unique approaches, ie $10 verbs outbursts, with getting us to stretch our imaginations.

I'm the award-winning author of more than 80 books for young people including "Bill the Boy Wonder: The Secret Co-Creator of Batman," which changed history and inspired an unprecedented feature documentary called "Batman & Bill." Other titles include "The Chupacabra Ate the Candelabra," "Brave Like My Brother," and "Thirty Minutes Over Oregon: A Japanese Pilot's World War II Story." I've been speaking in schools since 2001 (now 50+ a year), running writing workshops for young people for nearly as long, and teaching high-rated creative writing camps since 2015.
