Hello, I'm Mallory! I have been studying Violin for 11 years, and have played piano for 12.
I am a recent graduate of the Chicago College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University, where I earned a bachelor's degree in Classical Violin Performance. During my time at Roosevelt I gained additional experience in Jazz, Contemporary, pop, and Improvisational musics (to name a few).
I have had 6 years of formal piano training over the course of my life, through both private instruction and college courses. Ask me more about music theory, jazz theory, improvisation, writing, arranging or anything else you might be interested in!
Over the past decade of my musical career I have taught private and group lessons on both violin and piano, and have coached elementary and middle school chamber ensembles. Currently, I spend my days:
-teaching private lessons at two studios in Chicago, in the evenings and on Satuday's
-teaching before and after school group lessons at CPS
-teaching students of my own private studio--in their homes, online, or in my home--in the evenings and on Sunday's.
-performing at local venues.
-traveling for gigs, workshops/lessons, and/or artistic endeavors.
-as a session musician for studio recordings.
Overall, I absolutely love what I do--playing music, writing music, and teaching--and I especially look forward to working with you!

Was a great experience. Mallory is very nice and made it fun.
Love doing class
This was our first lesson of this kind online. My daughter has taken lessons before and became bored and never wanted to practice. I see a whole new excitement in her! The lessons taught by Mallory were built perfectly for my daughters age level. I can tell that she has taken the time to make sure it's a good fit for the age of the person she is teaching. Everything from the words she used, the songs she taught her and the movements really kept her interested. I can't wait to see what is in store moving forward. I was worried she wouldn't get that one on one attention type of feel online, but it was just as if she was right there with her. She was also able to type the homework right on the screen for us. This was just so convenient. I love not having to leave the house on a school night.+ Read More

This Lesson Was Awesome. She Really Explains Everything Well.
She is great, friendly, patient, & understanding!
Great lessons! Good with a 12 yrs old, accommodating, understanding, patient, punctual. Thank you!
She is really nice and has very good knowledge about technicality. I am really enjoying learning from her.
Mallory is INCREDIBLE.
So fun and so patient.
Our daughter just finished her first lesson...and the first words out of her mouth were, "I can't WAIT for Mallory to come back!".
My daughter was excited about her first class with Mallory and she was not let down. Mallory uses lots of easy-to-remember tricks for Emily to learn her notes.
My son loves his first violin lesson. Mallory is very knowledge and patient with my kid. He can't wait to practice again tomorrow.
Friendly, kind and encouraging. My daughter really enjoyed her lesson and is looking forward to the next one.
Mallory has been a great instructor for my 9 year old learning to play violin. She was willing to purchase materials out of her own pocket to keep my daughter's lessons cohesive with her previous instructor. So flexible with availability, and so kind, positive, and cheerful that it keeps the lessons fun for my little girl!+ Read More
