I have worked with children for years in a multitude of environments; in childcare, as a music teacher, and as a private tutor. This range of experience has given me the perfect tools to assist children with tackling the many obstacles faced both with school work and in music lessons. I believe that the most effective teaching approach involves a positive and engaging environment with the aim of increasing a child's sense of confidence and autonomy with the subjects as we work through their concerns. This 'friend approach' promotes an environment in which children feel safe asking questions and expressing confusion in our sessions, which allows us to work together and develop tactics that allow the child to better handle these struggles independently in the future. I have seen my students flourish in both the school environment and at home as we have worked to learn and improve problem solving skills, whether it be regarding their school work or their music.
