Hi! I’m Maia and I love using my hands to create beautiful things! I started to work with glass when I was only 12 years old. Glass is my number one passion it lead me to work in studios throughout high school and college teaching people of all ages and backgrounds to manipulate glass and bring their visions into reality. I received my BFA in Glass from Cleveland Institute of Art in 2015 and then received my MFA in Glass from Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Currently I own a glass business as well as continue to make fine art sculpture which I show in galleries around the county. Baking is my second passion. In any given week you’ll find me elbows deep in flour and diving into the oven at least 4 days a week. The process of perfecting a recipe, planning and executing my display, and then watching my family and friends light up as they see and taste the goods I’ve made fills me with unending joy and fulfillment. My third passion is my garden. I have innumerable house plants and an extensive veggie and flower garden! The process of growing and nourishing these plants teaches me to pay attention to small details, to be patient, and inspires my art and baking practices! Who knew my passion for the outdoors and plants would end up informing my style in all parts of my life! I value community and shared knowledge. I believe that working together as a community, making all accumulated knowledge available to everyone, and supporting each other will lead to a stronger, more capable, loving world. I want to share what I know with you, inspire you with what others have made, and help you develop your own voice and techniques!

Maia was an awesome teacher to my ten year old boy. She kept his interest the whole time and she was very patient with him. He was so excited after the class and can't wait until the next one!! Strongly recommend Maia!
