Hi, I'm Mady! I have been an enthusiast for the clarinet since I started in 6th grade in 2002. At the beginning of the Disney movie, 101 Dalmatians, the moving sheet music and clarinet sound had me hooked on wanting to learn how to play. Even before beginning band, I was trying to figure out how this instrument worked, and have loved every second of it since. Playing and teaching is my niche, and I cannot wait to help you in your musical journey! I have a Bachelor's in Music Education from an accredited Arkansas college, Arkansas Tech University. While studying all aspects of teaching all kinds of instruments, I studied with a clarinet professor, and still love learning about how to be even better on this instrument. I earned top chair in the top University Ensemble several semesters in a row, and competed in a solo competition, where I placed in the top 3 of soloists. In 2014 I taught K-12 music in the public school setting, and currently I am a Clarinet Adjunct for Junior Highs and High Schools in the Greenwood/Fort Smith area. I have been an active adjunct for 3 years, since 2016, first in the Cabot/Little Rock area, and now in the Fort Smith area. I also take on private lessons for all ages and levels of players from first year players through sixth year players, typically high school level students. I teach fundamental sounds and music reading, as well as prep students for auditions in All-Region material, and solo material. I have been a speaker at a university sponsored Clarinet Day in 2014 and 2020, where area Middle, Junior, and High school level students attend to learn more about the clarinet. My topic of presentation was over "Back to Basics", making a big review over all the best fundamentals for the clarinet to improve sound and technique. I also co-hosted a professional development session for area band directors on best teaching methods on reeds/equipment for clarinet from the experience of collegiate lessons. During the summers of 2012-2019, I was hired to be a clarinet adjudicator, group and individual lesson teacher at the ATU Band Camps, a week long camp that housed all students working on band instruments to rehearse and perform a concert. Teaching clarinet has become a great passion for me, and anyone that shows any kind of interest should have access to someone who loves to teach and play, and I feel that is where I am available to be that resource.

I have employed Madyson as an adjunct teacher at Waldron Public Schools in Arkansas where I teach. She has taught clarinet sectionals and lessons for us at the high school and middle school. She has done a fantastic job with our students. They have learned and gained a lot from her teaching. I recommend her to anyone looking for clarinet private instruction and/or group instruction.

My son has been taking lessons once a week from Madyson since July, and I am very pleased with the progress he has made with her. She has a very energetic and outgoing personality that helps him enjoy the work he's putting forth.

Very patient, great sense of humor and very well priced. Been a flautist for 25 years and been playing the clarinet for several months now. It's what I always wanted to learn but couldn't till recently. Mady is great!
