Teaching since:

I am a recent graduate from Loyola Marymount University! Yay class of 2017! I received several awards from my University for my excellence in painting, drawing, and figure drawing, and have been shown in galleries in Los Angeles and national competitions! I have been teaching all forms of art since high school (dance, singing, acting, drawing) , but my recent focus has been art education.

Through my own education and experience in teaching, I have learned the most important concepts my students learn are 1) determination, or the willingness to move forward despite setbacks, and 2) the "actual" skills of painting, drawing, sketching, portrait art, still life, and figure drawing. These are all core aspects when creating a base for artistry, and can be implemented when choosing a unique style for oneself going forward.

In my lessons, after choosing what individual goals you wish to accomplish, you will be training these skills while also engaging with the historical background of these skills, such as the great artists who practiced them and the reasons to practice them. My lessons range from intro level to advanced level, and are catered to the student depending on experience and age.

I look forward to creating art together!

Madi is such a delightful teacher! She has a certain energy and charisma about herself that children adore and respond well to. Her lessons are fun, thoughtful, and creative experiences that enrich those lucky enough to have crossed her path.

I was interested in learning basic drawing as a hobby during my sabbatical. Madi has been giving me weekly lessons for the past month. I now have key basic skills and have been exposed to a creative process where I can take my imagination and what I have learned from Madi to grow and pursue drawing as I continue my break. Madi is able to inspire me to try new methods and I now I really enjoy and look forward to continuing to draw. I plan to continue my lessons with Madi and am grateful for her patience and down to earth teaching methods. Her rates are very reasonable and well worth it. She is flexible with her scheduling and I appreciate her ability to also work in sessions with my children and for one time, a friend.
