Broadway Singing with Mackenzie J.

I am a singer, piano player, and church choir director. I graduated from Central College in Pella, IA with a BA in biology and music, specifically vocal performance and pedagogy. I have had the opportunity to sing with world renowned artists, including Gabriel Espinosa, Kim Nazarian, Ethan Butler, and more! This has given me great insight into the music business and the importance of networking. Creating individualized lessons for each student is the name of my game. I enjoy creating music with my students and troubleshooting during each lesson. I am always reading on the latest techniques and repertoire for students of all ages, to make sure my students are getting the best and newest information. A BA in music also requires a large amount of music theory and history, which I enjoy adding into lessons. If interested in a more in depth study into this, I would be happy to add more into each lesson! Understanding context of a piece of music is incredibly important to know before singing it, which is why I like to go over just a little bit of history with each piece. I enjoy teaching all styles of music; Broadway, classical, gospel, pop, and everything in between! Know that the foundation for all of these styles is the same, so if you are interested in learning multiple styles, it will be easy to do! I look forward to meeting with you and creating together!
