I'm a father of 6 and have had a love and passion for capturing light (aka photography) for many many years. While I have shot many styles and types I have a really passion for candid photography in social settings - think weddings, funerals, births sporting events etc. The raw emotion is almost palpable and so real. This is why we say a picture is worth 1,000 words. Photography students can expect to make improvements not only in their understanding but in their applicable skill level week to week. I provide not only class instruction but the critical feedback and critique on the homework assignments. I review WITH students their work, what they were trying to accomplish and why it did or didn't work out. With many years of experience and shooting in many different situations and environments I've developed a deep understanding of how light works and doesn't work. With this experience I've developed many methods of simplifying the complex into easy to understand concepts. Allowing students to better grasp then APPLY those principles. Above all I love watching you develop, grow and learn. The best way to accomplish this is to have a firm foundation of the core principles of photography and build from there.
