About Mac R.
Mac Ross is one of Tulsa, Oklahoma's most notable Guitarists. His career as a Performer, Songwriter and Teacher spans over 20 years. Known best for his work as a founding a member of Tulsa favorites The Groove Pilots and Mollys Yes, Mac has enjoyed not just local success but also national recognition with the 1999 major label release of "Wonderworld" a record by Tulsa band Mollys Yes on Republic/Universal/MCA. In 2003 he recorded the sophomore effort "Roundabout" by Tulsa band Fanzine at famed Abbey Road studios in London. Mac is also a first call session musician and his guitar playing has been heard on television music for ESPN, Fox Sports Net and ABC Sports. Mac's guitar lessons are private, half-hour weekly lessons focusing on modern teaching methods that keep students challenged and engaged.
In December of 2010, Tulsa Mayor Dewey Bartlett appointed Mac to the Tulsa Arts Commission and in February of 2011, the Tulsa City Council approved Mac's appointment. Mac will serve an initial two years in the "musicians" chair for Arts Commission.
