I teach students of all ages and stages. Having studied piano for 16 years and voice for 4 years, my students can expect to learn theory and technique along with repertoire. I encourage my students to practice for at least ten minutes every day! All members of my studio have the opportunity to perform for and collaborate with one another in two recitals each year. In addition to teaching a studio of 20 musicians (ages 4–65), I am a professional choir director. I graduated from Michigan State University (2018) with a Masters in Choral Conducting and from Oberlin College (2012) with a Bachelors in Music, Concentration in Choral Conducting. I look forward to working with you!

We recently started piano lessons with Ms Lydia and we can’t say enough good things. Our daughter Emerson asks each day if Ms Lydia is coming to play piano. And we believe that is because of Ms Lydia's positive attitude, happy personality and ability to make learning music so much fun! Ms Lydia has already taught my daughter so much in regards to music and reading notes. Emerson enjoys each lesson so much that she practices the piano on her own. We are so grateful for Ms Lydia. She’s engaging, caring and her passion for music is contagious!

Lydia is a great teacher! She selects great music for my level and offers me suggestions to improve my ability. I enjoy practicing everyday and she never gets frustrated when I make mistakes but shows me correct fingering. I began playing at 13 years old, and have taken lessons from many other teachers and now I'm 69 and have MS, she does a great job with me!
