- Teaches students:

- Teaching since:
I teach students of all ages and stages. Having studied piano for 16 years and voice for 4 years, my students can expect to learn theory and technique along with repertoire. I encourage my students to practice for at least ten minutes every day! All members of my studio have the opportunity to perform for and collaborate with one another in three recitals each year.
In addition to teaching a studio of twelve musicians (ages 4–85), I am a professional choral director. I graduated from Michigan State University (2018) with a Masters in Choral Conducting and from Oberlin College (2012) with a Bachelors in Music, Concentration in Choral Conducting.
I look forward to working with you!

We recently started piano lessons with Ms Lydia and we can’t say enough good things. Our daughter Emerson asks each day if Ms Lydia is coming to play piano. And we believe that is because of Ms Lydia's positive attitude, happy personality and ability to make learning music so much fun! Ms Lydia has already taught my daughter so much in regards to music and reading notes. Emerson enjoys each lesson so much that she practices the piano on her own. We are so grateful for Ms Lydia. She’s engaging, caring and her passion for music is contagious!+ Read More
Lydia is a great teacher! She selects great music for my level and offers me suggestions to improve my ability. I enjoy practicing everyday and she never gets frustrated when I make mistakes but shows me correct fingering.
I began playing at 13 years old, and have taken lessons from many other teachers and now I'm 69 and have MS, she does a great job with me!
Lydia has been a wonderful teacher for my 2 daughters aged 6 and 8. She is prompt, enthusiastic and a great teacher. Highly recommend.
My daughter has been taking piano and voice lessons with Lydia for the past 5 years. Lydia is a very thorough teacher and will work with the student’s interests to keep the lesson fun but without losing the structure and highlighting proper technique and theory work. We love that Lydia is firm, disciplined and knowledgeable but kind and approachable. Lydia has continued to evolve my daughter’s course work with age to make it challenging. She is a wonderful piano teacher for any student.+ Read More
OK, if five stars mean "best instructor ever", then all the other five stars need to be demoted to four stars; there can only be on "best", and it is Lydia!
NO ONE has more musical knowledge, and her ability to teach is amazing. Lydia tailors her methods to accept the student for who (s)he is and where (s)he wants is and wants to go. I have been with Lydia for a few years. There could be no better music teacher! If you are lucky enough to have found Lydia, look no further and join her studio NOW!
