I have been teaching students, with and without special needs, K-12 for 15 years. During that timeframe I have been awarded teacher of the year two times. I am certified to teach Reading K-12 and am certified to teach Math, Writing, Science and Social Studies for grades K-8. Therefore, I have a lot of background knowledge for content reading, which is important for students in grades 4-12. In addition, I am also certified to teach students with learning disabilities in grades K-12. I have 10 years of experience writing individualized learning plans for students and then teaching in small groups and in the co-taught special education setting. I am familiar with Georgia Department of Education Standards and the pacing guides recommended for K-12 students. My specialty is in reading, primarily foundational reading skills grades K-3, using the Orton-Gillingham approach. I love to learn and love helping others learn. You will see that in my teaching.
