Violin with Lucy L.

Violinist Lucy Lu is an active teacher, soloist, chamber and orchestral musician. Ms. Lu's performances take her to several cities around the United States, China, and Europe to play in some of the greatest concert halls.  She served as Concertmaster of the Bellflower Symphony, Orchestra Collective of Orange Country and is currently the 1st violinist of Plaża String Quartet. Ms. Lu has performed with the Nie’Er Symphony Orchestra in China, Four Seasons Youth Orchestra, LA Chamber Choir, and Celestial Opera Company as a violin soloist and has performed at places such as the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Cerritos Performing Art Center, Irvine Barclay Theatre, Musco Center of the Arts, Carpenter Performing Arts Center in the Los Angeles area. Ms. Lu founded Violinbaby Music Studio where she trains young violinists, many of whom are accepted into renowned music organizations such as The Colburn School, Pasadena Youth Symphony Orchestra and Claremont Youth Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Lu also coaches youth orchestras such as Orange County Youth Symphony, Four Seasons Youth Orchestra and South Coast Youth Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Lu received her Masters degree from the Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University, Long Beach where she studied with Professor Moni Simeonov. *** Lesson Details *** Learning violin will be fun and rewarding for my students. My teaching method is from The Juilliard School of Music, lessons are specifically designed to fit individual students age, background, strength and personality. In my classes, not only students are taught how to play the violin, they are also taught ear training, sight-reading, music theory, and performance skills; Most important, students are also taught self-confidence, discipline, appreciation of the arts, and the pride that comes from a job well done. Every year, my students have the opportunity to perform in different concert settings, participate in our annual summer concerts, take national music exams, and audition with many orchestras and music schools. *** Studio Equipment *** The studio lessons are taught in a quiet and comfy home music studio. The room includes a piano, violins, music stands, flat screen TV. Seating for parent/family member is also available. *** Specialties *** My teaching method is mainly following The Juilliard School of Music, and I also combine it with the Suzuki method, especially for younger students.
