Hello! My name is Lucie and I am a professional, warm, and passionate teacher with over 17 years of experience teaching private violin lessons in one-on-one, classroom, and group music environments. My students have ranged from as young as age 4 up to 84 - all ages are welcome. I hold a BS in Music from City, University of London, UK with violin performance studies completed at the Guildhall School Of Music And Drama, London, UK. In addition, I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Music Therapy from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, UK. After passing my ABRSM Grade 8 exam with a Distinction at age 17, I was privileged to be invited, after audition, to perform with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. I have played professionally and semi-professionally with orchestras and ensembles in London and Cambridge, UK, and across the Pacific Northwest here in the US. While nurturing in you a passion for the violin, I will also develop in you strong foundational skills such as note reading, music theory, violin technique, ear training, musicianship, and sight reading. I provide opportunity for you to complete assessments in your progress through the Associated Board Of The Royal Schools Of Music. My education and performance background, coupled with my experience as a mother of three beautiful children, make me both professionally and personally qualified to provide you with a highly skilled, yet warm and empathetic lesson experience. I am a strong believer in the value of music in a person's life, and more importantly, in an individual's right to musical self expression. Whether you want to learn simply as a hobby, or have higher music career goals, your learning journey is important to me.
