Hello! My name is Lucie and I am a professional, warm, and passionate teacher with over 17 years of experience teaching private violin lessons in one-on-one, classroom, and group music environments. My students have ranged from as young as age 4 up to 84 - all ages are welcome.

I hold a BS in Music from City, University of London, UK with violin performance studies completed at the Guildhall School Of Music And Drama, London, UK. In addition, I hold a Post Graduate Diploma in Music Therapy from Anglia Ruskin University, Cambridge, UK. After passing my ABRSM Grade 8 exam with a Distinction at age 17, I was privileged to be invited, after audition, to perform with the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. I have played professionally and semi-professionally with orchestras and ensembles in London and Cambridge, UK, and across the Pacific Northwest here in the US.

While nurturing in you a passion for the violin, I will also develop in you strong foundational skills such as note reading, music theory, violin technique, ear training, musicianship, and sight reading. I provide opportunity for you to complete assessments in your progress through the Associated Board Of The Royal Schools Of Music.

My education and performance background, coupled with my experience as a mother of three beautiful children, make me both professionally and personally qualified to provide you with a highly skilled, yet warm and empathetic lesson experience. I am a strong believer in the value of music in a person's life, and more importantly, in an individual's right to musical self expression. Whether you want to learn simply as a hobby, or have higher music career goals, your learning journey is important to me. You will always receive my respect, full attention, and careful preparation for your lessons.

I look forward to meeting you, and to facilitating your musical journey!

Lucie is a great music instructor. She always has a positive feedback for my daughter. She encourages them to do their best. She's also very accommodating with schedule adjustments so her pupils don't miss lessons and fair with pricing. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to learn how to play the violin.

Taking violin lessons from Lucie was inspiring, fun, and she opened my eyes to an exciting new world of composers, classical eras, and music that reflected my interests. Prior to taking lessons from Lucie I had been a banjo and guitar player. I had started and quite violin on several occasions over several years due to the difficulty of the instrument and the simple melodies I was learning as a novice player. After some time taking lessons with Lucie I found myself playing duets, Christmas music, and I began to develop a true passion for classical composers and the music I was learning. Thanks to Lucie I will be a lifelong violin player.

Ms Tracy is a polite, professional, patient and a dedicated teacher. My daughter has been learning from her for the past 3 years now. We couldn’t be more happy with my daughter’s progress under Ms Tracy’s learning.

In first grade my daughter decided she wanted to sign up for the orchestra program at her school. Since she was only 6 years old she really didn't have a lot of musical experience, so I decided to get her some additional lessons at our local music store. We were so fortunate that we were assigned to Ms. Lucie, she is an amazing teacher and my daughter just loves her. Our original intension was to get a head start on learning how to play the violin and reading notes, (we never would have thought we would still be with Ms. Lucie 3 years later). My daughter started in begiinner orchestra and quickly advanced with the help of Lucie's training. Each year my daughter moved up a level, 2nd grade she moved to intermediate orchestra and 3rd grade she decided on her own to audition for advanced orchestra (she made it and was 1 of 2 ,3rd grade students in the advanced orchestra program). She is now in 4th grade and still loves to play, this year's orchestra program has just started and she is really looking forward to playing. As a family unit, we would totally recommend Lucie as an excellent teacher and a valuable asset for providing a young mind the confidence to be successful.

I would highly recommend taking lessons from Lucie!
My daughter took violin lessons from Lucie for almost three years. We have no musical background and came to her not knowing the first thing about playing the violin or reading music. My daughter learned the proper way to hold the violin and bow, read music, and gained an appreciation for music. We appreciate how quickly she advanced from ear piercing squeeks to enjoying songs by Mozart!
Lucie is wonderful with children. She gives a good balance of encouragement and positive criticism in order to challenge her students. She is a delight to work with as a parent, communicates well, and is easy to talk with. She is dedicated to her students and their families.
I would highly recommend taking lessons from Lucie!

I was a beginner with the violin as a 32 year old, who also could not read music. Lucie was the perfect teacher as she was understanding of my busy life as an adult and knew how to encourage a balance. She is extremely patient and makes learning easy and enjoyable. After a short period, I felt quite confident in my improving skills. Lucie is really an amazing instructor and I highly recommend her to people of any age and skill.
