My name is Lou and I have been playing guitar since the age of 14. I was a manager at Colorado's largest music store retailers'. Quite often, I have been the one behind the scenes either teaching, recording, engineering, or running live sound.
I started teaching when I was 18 years old, it just seemed I had an ability to make sense out the guitar. I understand after years of teaching what motivates and helps students get to their goals. My experience has made balancing the repertoire of challenging material with realistic outcome, a high priority. Students making progress while having fun is the ultimate goal!

*** Lesson Details ***
Learning guitar should be fun and rewarding! The most important aspect is to find out what's important to you, my student, what goals do you have? I teach the basics from holding the guitar to strumming as well as advance techniques like 8 finger tapping, hybrid picking, economy (sweep) and alternate picking. I use any technology or device that makes learning easier and fun. I include an audio file either an mp3 or a Guitar Pro 6 file that allows you to practice with actual music. At every lesson I make sure students are progressing and have an idea of what is expected for the following lesson. I believe that after the 1st month you will see results and feel a sense of accomplishment. And of coarse, we rock out!

*** Studio Equipment ***
Music Studio: chairs, bass and guitars, bookshelf, studio stand with recorder, computer, monitors, parents can sit in on lesson

*** Specialties ***
I can teach advance guitar techniques like 8 finger tapping, hybrid picking, and economy picking.

I love entering contests, it helps me to motivate and inspire new ideas.
Tapping an A minor pentatonic
Arpeggio tapping!
Love the backing track. I just got a new guitar and sound and wanted to make a video with them both. The guitar sound is the POD X3 Live and I do mean live because it's the actual audio from the video camera mixed over the
original backing track.

Fantastic Instructor...Great Experience

My daughter Tracey has been taking lessons from Louis V.for the past 3 months. She is a beginner guitar player and the instruction she has received from Lou has been amazing. We have looked for an activity for Tracey to access her artistic nature for the past year without to much success. When she expressed interest in guitar I was skeptic as I had taken guitar at her age without much success. However had I had an instructor like Lou V. it would be a different story. He is so patient and knowledgeable. His curriculum and the way he introduces new material and level of difficulty is perfect. I enjoy the lessons with Tracey so much and am in awe as he teaches the lesson and I see the smile on Tracey face as she learns new cords and songs. His techniques as an instructor are FIVE STAR FANTASTIC. Tracey has never missed a class and looks forward to going weekly. I truly believe her dedication to learning the guitar is due to the instruction she gets from Lou. I am so glad we landed in his studio and look forward to continue watching my daughter grow in this new passion she has found playing guitar. Thank you Take Lessons and Lou V for playing such a positive role in my daughters life.
