About LoriAnn F.

Grammy Award winning Soprano, International Opera Star, Experienced Voice Teacher, Highly knowledgable in all styles of music: classical, musical theater, pop, jazz, and blues. Originally from Longview, Texas, I grew up Shreveport/Bossier, Louisiana. I went to college at Stetson Univ in DeLand, Florida, and did my Master of Music degree at DePaul Univ, in Chicago. I grew up singing from age 4 at church and in musical theatre shows, playing piano from age 5, performing recitals and accompanying choirs and singers throughout my high school and college career. I started singing professionally in college and made my Lyric Opera of Chicago debut at age 26. I sang in Europe numerous times and eventually landed in Los Angeles, where I have worked with LA Opera since 2007. **It is with LA Opera that I won a Grammy Award for my performance in the opera Ghosts of Versailles.** Singing, performing and teaching has always been my way of life! I started Voice Academy LA last year and have been building up my private voice studio since my college days. I am experienced, very knowledgeable, and have a fun personality! I take time to explain everything to my students so they can grasp healthy, vocal technique, and duplicate it on their own. I demonstrate what I teach and will create a unique vocal plan for each student so that they can achieve the best results. We will have fun together and you will see results in time. I teach a classically based technique that build your voice and can be applied to whatever style you prefer. Singing is a lifelong pursuit, and while I can coach you for an upcoming audition, it is dedication and regular practice and application that will sustain you in the longterm. I work with students at all levels, beginner to professional.
