Improve your composition and arrangement skills with ear training lessons from an experienced teacher

Not everyone can play an instrument or sing "by ear", however, there is a process by which you can improve your ability to "hear" the nuances of music, from identifying intervals to identifying keys. This can be especially important when trying to emulate your favorite songs. This training is part of all my instrumental lessons, but can be taught as a separate skill.

I have more than 30 years of musical experience. I’ve taught guitar, piano, bass, and theater in private schools, art schools and I’m currently teaching at Classic Axe Guitar Gallery in Gainesville, VA. I’ve taught over 250 students in all levels of experience, tailoring each lesson to fit each student, covering all genres, so that learning their instrument is fun. It’s been exciting to see some of them become music majors, some of them become performers, and some using their skills and gifts to teach others. I love teaching and sharing my musical knowledge with people of ALL ages. I believe anyone can learn music, with the right approach and encouragement. Nothing gives me more pleasure than watching my students accomplish more than they ever dreamed possible.

If you live in Warren County and are looking for a piano teacher, look no further! Despite my insecurities over learning to play piano, Lola was very kind and patient while steadily guiding me at a pace that was ideal for my comprehension.

Classic Axe Guitar Gallery

I teach individual private lessons to students 5 and up on piano and guitar. Each student has their own lesson plan and we tailor lessons to fit the musical interest/genre that you love most. This makes learning fun and easier to meet goals. My students love their lessons almost as much as I love teaching.
