As a 30-year award winning professional artist my background painting and illustration. I hold a BFA from the Academy of Art University and USF. Private classes are for all ages. I will guide each student through a variety of art processes in a friendly & engaging environment. Classes introduce students to art in its many forms and traditions such as drawing, painting, watercolor, printmaking, mixed-media and collage. I can tailor an art program for a student’s particular interests. My specialty is helping artists find their unique visual voice using various art techniques and projects. I also can work with children and adults who'd benefit from art therapy. I am compassionate, enthusiastic, easy-going with a friendly attitude that helps to create an environment where students can relax and feel comfortable. I have a flexible schedule allowing me to work with students as needed.

I recently had a beginniner's acrylic lesson with Liz at her studio. The lesson was totally custom tailored to my requests, which was exactly what I wanted. I look forward to more lessons with Liz. She is a gifted teacher and artist.

Liz demystifies the art-making process and believes so fully in a student's ability to take steps forward that you start to believe it too. She makes art-marking a joy by first helping her students see and then helping them begin to build skills in a manageable way. Liz is fantastic at helping her students find the balance between play and structure, so that mastery of technique grows alongside creative exploration. She connects immediately with young people, helping them to both see their creative potential and dare to stretch and develop their skills.

Liz has an amazing toolbox of craft and techniques and a loose and approachable teaching style that makes learning and doing art fun.
