Hello! I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a Certified Health Coach as well as a Certified Yoga Therapist. I have taught and love teaching health and physiological wellbeing to children, adolescents, and adults of all abilities through my practice over the years.
My special skill is in helping people get fascinated with the control they can have over their body, how the brain and body work together, functional medicine and how their mindset helps them learn and move well. I love connecting the dots between the outside world and the structure or function of our body for people of all ages.
Over the years I offered anatomy and physiology in many ways through working with patients, my child and adolescent development training, yoga in school clubs, volunteering as a guest mentor teaching about my career as well as functional anatomy to up and coming middle school students, athletes, yoga educators, and therapists. I have also been a periodic adjunct professor in both developmental movement, introductory anatomy and have studied anatomy and physiology of all systems in-depth professionally since 1992. I have taught children about their anatomy and physiology as young as five through being a periodic adjunct professor in physical therapy programs for over 20 years. I can work with children with special learning needs as well as easily take a complex subject and make it very age appropriate.
At this point in my career, I am concerned with the lack of awareness many of my clients have had about their body and the amount of diet and stress-related chronic disease I see in younger and younger clients. I feel a calling to mentor and educate as many young people as I can in getting to deeply understand how amazing a technology their human form and function is.
I look forward to making anatomy and physiology interesting to you and hope to help you create a life long love of it.
