Learn beginning, intermediate or heirloom sewing while creating fun projects; 45 years experience
I started sewing in junior high and haven't stopped since! I began teaching middle school in 1986 and love to connect with my students and make hands-on learning fun and successful. I teach beginning sewing skills step-by-step to help prepare you for garment sewing with a pattern. Then we can move on to working with patterns to create clothing or other projects you will love. If you would like to learn about mending or upcycling clothing to suit your size and style, send me an inquiry. If you are a more advanced sewist wanting to learn machine embroidery, art-to-wear, or heirloom sewing, we can do that too. In fact, I have specialized training from the Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion. I have a bright, beautiful sewing studio with easy-to-use machines, or we can use your own machine if it is in good working order, and you have a manual. I look forward to sewing with you!
About Linda S.

I've been a maker for as long as I can remember and began sewing in junior high. Now I teach others how to sew, mend, alter, and upscale clothing and other items they want to give or keep for themselves. Whether you are completely new to sewing or have some experience, I can teach you tips and tricks to improve your skills. From absolute beginner to intermediate student, from machine embroidery wannabe to heirloom sewist, I can help! I have heirloom sewing training from the Martha Pullen School of Art Fashion and college courses in fashion design. A lifelong learner, I have taken numerous workshops in sewing, creating art jackets, and machine embroidery. I am obsessed with fashion from earlier eras and enjoy the challenge of creating historically inspired pieces. I want to share the joy of self-expression with you! I have taught middle school students since 1986 but am happy to work with sewists of all ages. Let's get together to help you realize your creative dreams!
