    About Lily L.

Teaching music is one of the most exciting, meaningful things I can do because I am able to help my students grow as musicians but also as people. Since my teenage days practicing concertos on my porch and volunteering to teach beginning string students, music has challenged me to be adaptable, dedicated and bold. I decided to make music my full-time adventure and profession when I was accepted to study songwriting and violin performance at Berklee College of Music. My eclectic, genre-defying Berklee mentors, Sandra Kott, Darol Anger, and Mimi Rabson dared me to learn everything from Brahms to Bonnie Raitt. They also taught me that good technique is critical across styles, and showed me ways to spark students’ creativity through improvisation, tune writing, and arranging. I graduated Berklee fluent in the languages of composition, theory, and music production, and am now working as a full time educator, performer, and songwriter. I use my experiences in the industry—from playing violin for video game soundtracks, to working in a recording studio in India—to craft contemporary, relevant lessons. Whether you’re interested in violin, viola, fiddle, basic piano, songwriting, or theory, I will teach you using the music you love. Come learn with me!
