10 years experience teaching beginners to advanced students! I have performed all over the world at the highest level with orchestras from the Los Angeles Philharmonic to the Scottish Chamber Orchestra. I hold a Bachelor's degree from the Royal College of Music in London, and an Artist Diploma from the Colburn School in Los Angeles. I have experience teaching Suzuki method, and use elements of Kodaly method to strengthen musical understanding. I teach with the belief that all students are different and have unique learning styles. It is my job to find out how I can help you succeed as a musician. Lessons are very focused with an emphasis on good technique and musical maturity. I have found this to be a winning combination in my students. I look forward to working with you!

About Liam B.

My name is Liam, and I'm a professional Violin/Viola teacher. I have performed as a Viola player internationally at festivals, with chamber groups, and symphony orchestras. I love teaching and it is an integral part of what I do. I believe that all students are different and learn in their own unique way. I strive to understand my students and tailor their teaching experience to fit their learning style. In this sense, my students have an all together more personalized experience. In order to play the Violin or Viola to a high level, we need a solid technical and musical understanding. I use a variety of different methods with roots in Suzuki and Kodaly method. I love singing, and will encourage my students to sing as much as possible during our lessons and in their practice sessions. For my beginner and intermediate students, I believe that the support of an adult is essential in their progress. I therefore ask parents or guardians to help their child in the practice room as much as possible. The support and focus of an adult can be the deciding factor in whether a student will continue to grow as a musician!
